The Beecher Memorial Church was severely damaged during the Katrina Hurricane. The entire interior was destroyed due to nine (9) feet of water that entered the church. ACB was asked to help to restore the church and Anthony Baker on a volunteer basis with a minimum cost to the church. In addition, our engineer also volunteered and provided engineering service for a minimal cost. Miraculously, the exterior façade remains intact except for metal frames and damaged air handling units. The only change was a request to get natural light in the sanctuary and a round window was introduced and a large cross added to the façade. The interior layout remains basically the same except for the expansion of the male and female toilets and the enlargement of the kitchen and pantry. In the sanctuary, a new pulpit was designed with a baptismal pool behind, new lighting , and the replacement of all the finishes and walls.
